Solicitando actualización de una sola ubicación, AVD se bloquea

Estoy tratando de solicitar una actualización de ubicación única utilizando el nuevo método LocationManager.requestSingleUpdate (), pero una vez que el dispositivo recibe una actualización desde el GPS el sistema operativo se bloquea y parece que intenta reiniciar. Al menos tengo la pantalla de inicio de Android, pero nunca termina de arrancar.

He intentado ejecutar el código en un 2.3, 2.3.1, 2.3.3 y 2.2 AVD, con el mismo resultado en todos.

He probado una antigua aplicación basada en la ubicación que he hecho, y que está funcionando muy bien en unos pocos cientos de unidades, y esto también se bloquea el AVD cuando se envía una actualización de la ubicación. Supongo que esto está resultando ser más un caso de entender lo que está mal con las actualizaciones de ubicación de la AVD que detectar un error en mi código ..?

También podría mencionar que la variable de provider se establece en "gps", de acuerdo con los registros. Ninguna de las sentencias de registro en el LocationListener se activan.

A continuación, enviar una corrección de gps a través de DDMS, y el teléfono procede a reiniciar.
